Playing Left 4 Dead 2, mostly for old times sake. Mostly so excited that the 49ers won tonight at Candlestick Park. The last game and the niners are in the playoffs! Woo-hoo!
I’ve thought and thought and spent a lot of time researching and for my next game box, I’m moving to Playstation 4. I’ve been an Xbox gamer for years and years, and I, myself, am gamer to the core and will be to my dying days. I’ve long since moved away from Microsoft-based computers and that gawd-awful Windows OS, it’s time to move on with my gaming platform, too. Microsoft tech-support is atrocious (unless you have the newest hardware or software) and I’m through! To anyone out there reading this, I wish you all a wonderful holiday and new year!
Definitely Beautiful Katamari! Oh, man; I’ve been doing a nostalgia run-through (this was my first game) and it’s all about the thumbs on this one!
I’m not quite sure what came over me this weekend, but I went all out on the games from my early gaming days: Beautiful Katamari, Overlord 1, Bejeweled 2, and it’s been a blast! My XBox itself is in it’s dying days; making all kinds of noise from the disk drive and the hard drive is jammed packed.
I just started playing Minecraft on my xbox and although I love it I suck at it. Well today when I was out exploring, I came across an entire village! It was pretty advanced, so I decided to alter the difficulty to `peaceful’ where I wouldn’t be attacked and wiped the entire town out…they had all kinds of stuff! It was pretty mean but I got a great set of all kinds of stuff to get me back on track for the harder difficulties.
Now my thumbs really DO hurt! I’ve been playing Minecraft for so many hours it’s almost embarrassing. Well truthfully, I’ve been bedridden with a head injury, so I have an excuse (sorta)…
It’s a great open world sandbox kind of game, so there’s a lot of “live and learn” stuff going on. Right now I’m working on a long distance railroad project, and I noticed that all the materials needed to make a bed to pass the night (namely sheep) seem to disappear, so I made a chest containing an overnight kit to pack with me if I know I’m going to be away overnight, including a bed, a crafting table, extra wood, and lighting. That way I can sleep through the dark night safely and continue whatever I was doing in the daylight. It’s such a great game, and I passed it off as another stupid Lego’s type of game for so long, but it’s actually amazing!
I got A trial version of Minecract XBox360 Edition and “bam!” I couldn’t keep my hands off it! Now I have the Android version, too. I played all night, and I never stay up all night cuz it makes me cranky but I just couldn’t stop! What’s even more absurd is I totally suck at it! GTA V is out; I wasn’t gonna get it cuz I thought the franchise was pretty burned but this is pretty good! (Not enough to keep me up all night 🙂 ) There’s a pretty good zombie game out, too; I’m not very good at it but it’s fun, too.
From what I’ve seen, Xbox One looks really sweet! I’m still spending most of my time on Minecraft and the new Bioshock Infinite DLC, which I finished yesterday.
I have to say, BioShock Infinite is one of my all time favorite Xbox games, ever; but 1999 mode was one giant pain! I finally, with some coaching from my dear hubby, finished it off! Ya-hooo! I’m looking forward to the new DLC coming out. I just started Minecraft; I suck at it but it’s still a lot of fun! I’ve seen some of the awesome creations that other people have done and it just blows me away!
I’m halfway through my final playthrough of Bioshock Infinite and I must say I’m starting to loathe this game! This playthrough with it’s Scavenger Hunt restrictions is ridiculously difficult, there are no real payoffs other than the achievements I’ll receive for completing it; I could go on and on about it but I’d rather not. I did come across a set of video walkthroughs that on YouTube done by a gentleman who goes by the tag Seraphim17 (I may be wrong here) but these videos are so well done they are helpful when I get stuck, offer great tips for just surviving this mode, and actually done with a unique and light sense of humor that I find myself viewing his videos for the sake of enjoyment alone. He even manages to bring some enjoyment back into Bioshock Infinite!
Bioshock was the first video game I ever played. and I’ve been a huge fan of both Bioshock 2 and now Bioshock Infinite, all of which have their faults but to any other Bioshock Infinite fan out there struggling through the 1999 mode I highly recommend this guys videos. He’s easy to find, just head over to YouTube or Google something like 1999 mode walthrough and he’ll come up.
